Stunning scenery, easy hiking, 2-4 hours

The trail starts at Tenjin Lodge’s front door and follows Yubiso river up the valley to Ichinokura, a sheer rock face extending up over 1000m with a glacier at the base

Suitable for all levels of fitness and any sports shoes will get you there. The vertical ascent is approximately 200m but the path is generally flat

Return via the road (no vehicular traffic) and take in Machigasawa and the climbing museum

There is a cute, little, complimentary bus from Tanigawadake Ropeway to Ichinokura and back departing every 30 mins. The bus is primarily intended for the infirm, families with small children, expecting mothers etc.
